Close ... I came up with a net of $240 a week on 5500 miles a week, running $.36 split as team for 4 weeks, $.36 solo for 2 weeks on 2500 miles, truck down for maintanence for 3 days, with a $.02 bonus paid on the off week, FICA and a $80 per week medical contribution .. the kicker ... $.05 for maintenance fund ... that's the iffy part. Well that and 5500 miles.

I always figured if I got another truckI would drive the NEW lease truck(because I know I can make it earn its keep) then put another driver in this one, should make money that way,and if that driver is not so hot not as big a loss, only like what 166.00 with no tractor payment? I think a driver should be able to cover that overhead, plus i can watch him anyways(the way he fuels, miles per day, when he is mt,loaded,etc...) right here thru swiftowners website and my computer.....

That would be the way to do it.

I'm not getting one of those, if I can't get a refurb columbia I'm not getting nothing else they offering. (You DO NOT pay 9 cents per mile to IEL in excess miles with the refurb columbia)

I am putting down $2700 that way I'm not paying an extra $100 per week on the truck payment to cover the down payment.

I'm not putting the truck otr, it will cost a lot less to get fix when it breaks, I'm not going to be otr so I won't be 2000 miles away, more like about 600 miles away max.

I understand what your saying that why I'm not just going to jump in there without planning and with 2 truck note a week.

Scottie, you remind me of my old o/o boss who, quite honestly, worried the crap out of soul for those very circumstances you described.

And he deducted my workmans comp FROM my check. $161/month......yes

I've asked several o/o their response to that, they all said its SHADY
