Swiss rock star killed when motorcycle struck by semi south of Mesquite NV

This was in NY state....the website I found the article was from a MI Lawyer.

I dont know how many drivers I have seen going down the road watching TV instead of the road. It is just #### dumb.

I didnt see where it said they caught the driver who hit the motorcycle rider, any info on that?

 

Ironically I did not hear back from the LVRJ news reporter with any additional details. Maybe today??

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities in Nevada say Swiss rock band member Steve Lee was killed when a tractor-trailer skidded into his motorcycle on a wet highway northwest of Las Vegas.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Fackrell said Wednesday the crash happened about 5:15 p.m. PDT Tuesday, after 47-year-old Stefan Alois Lee and a group of at least eight other motorcyclists pulled to the side of Interstate 15 to put on rain clothing.
Fackrell tells The Associated Press the semitrailer swerved before hitting a parked Harley-Davidson motorcycle that fatally injured Lee.
Fackrell says drugs, alcohol and speed did not appear to be factors in the crash.
Lee was frontman for the band Gotthhard. He was pronounced dead at the scene, about 63 miles north of Las Vegas and 10 miles south of Mesquite.

 

Huh, swerved to avoid what? Surely not some idiot driving a four wheeler who was watching porn, texting, and jerking off over how awesome he was. Not like that doesn't happen on a daily if not hourly basis. Quick, penalize all truckers to solve the problem!

BLACKW900, DIDNT INTERSTATE run 318 Detroits back then? I remember them and I also remember having the permit book and 15 lisc plates and sticklers all over the truck. Rough riding SWB too. If you put stuff on the dash it was sure to bounce off on the floor.
