Oakley is NOT a good place to transition over to tanker--for someone with no previous tanker experience.

I found their tanker training for tanker rookies to be somewhat lacking. :(

Note also...that in your post above (post #65)....you said that they have changed their policy to "min 2 years tanker experience -- not just 2 years T/T." Well, this tells you they have obviously gotten out of the business of hiring/training tanker rookies completely. o_O

So....one could surmise that they finally got smart and "shot the horse"....so to speak.

I'm afraid not. But if you decide to go with either one, please share the details with us. I'm thinking that hauling bulk DEF would be a gravy job.

The company I work for has terminals in Baytown and Sealy. And Baytown has a $5k sign-on bonus right now, too.

I'm with Enterprise, and I'm quite happy. Baytown hauls LPG, and the company also hauls crude at other terminals.

Actually with a chat with a recruiter. It's because Volvo isn't making enough trucks for them. So until that's fixed. They currently leaning towards 2 years with tanker experience.
They got trucks for reefer/van. But was told only do that if that's what you want to do.
They might hire someone to train. But it all depends on Volvo. I was told once get my hazmat. Just update my application. Because they might still got a spot available to train someone.

yeah, I was told it was due to the truck shortage as well. They said they’d email me if anything changed.

When I first applied last month. It was 2 years experience. Didn't need to be tanker. But needed hazmat and tanker.

Yeah, same. I applied back around April but I still needed my endorsements. By the time I got them, everything had changed. I had a documentation delay that I needed to sort out before I could test for the endorsements or else I may have been hired on before the change…
