Oakley is NOT a good place to transition over to tanker--for someone with no previous tanker experience.
I found their tanker training for tanker rookies to be somewhat lacking.
Note also...that in your post above (post #65)....you said that they have changed their policy to "min 2 years tanker experience -- not just 2 years T/T." Well, this tells you they have obviously gotten out of the business of hiring/training tanker rookies completely.
So....one could surmise that they finally got smart and "shot the horse"....so to speak.

The company I work for has terminals in Baytown and Sealy. And Baytown has a $5k sign-on bonus right now, too.Adrock78 Thanks this. -

They got trucks for reefer/van. But was told only do that if that's what you want to do.
They might hire someone to train. But it all depends on Volvo. I was told once get my hazmat. Just update my application. Because they might still got a spot available to train someone.Adrock78 Thanks this. -

If you are new to the tanker world -- Foodliner will accept you with no tanker experience:
Foodliner Truck Driver Training | Careers | Foodliner
They also have a fair number of terminals located up in the northeast (meanwhile, Oakley does not):
Foodliner Locations | Terminals | Foodliner
No hazmat needed here....
