Why did you wait three hours to get dispatched? The only reason i can think of is that was the only loadout trailer around you going to vegas,you made a bad decision out of desperation.
Not saying who’s right or who’s wrong but after many years on the road i learned to keep my ego in check and put my inner peace ahead of anything else.fill that tank dead head home and enjoy my free time

I'm assuming that you were told about a possible delivery change before you got to the shipper and asked them to amend the ratecon and put it in writing. They were then wishy washy about it and despite multiple requests to put it in writing and amend the contract, they refused so you assumed it was a bait and switch tactic and the original location was valid. When you picked up the trailer, you verified that the original delivery location was still on the paperwork and the ratecon hadn't been cancelled. Neither had occurred so it stood to reason the ratecon delivery location was valid. It was only after you picked up the trailer and were underway that they sent a written request to change the location however they weren't willing to pay a reasonable fee for delivery to the new location, or a reasonable fee to deliver the trailer to the shipper. Upon hearing that, you declined the contract change and delivered the trailer to the original written agreed upon location. Is that about right?

"Prior to arriving at the shipper, I was informed of a potential alteration to the delivery arrangement. I subsequently requested the shipper to revise the rate confirmation (ratecon) and provide written confirmation of the amendment. Despite repeated requests to formalize the changes and amend the contract, they declined, leading me to infer that they were seeking a verbal favor, and that the originally stipulated delivery location remained valid. Upon picking up the trailer, I verified that the original delivery terms were unchanged in the paperwork and that the ratecon remained in effect.

It was only well after commencing transport that the shipper submitted a written request to alter the delivery location. However, they were unwilling to negotiate a reasonable fee for delivery to the new location or compensate for returning the trailer to the shipper. In response, I declined the proposed contract modification and delivered the trailer to the originally agreed-upon location as documented in our initial agreement.

 

I personally think you did the right thing I followed it completely. And I hope you kick their arse!!!
