Well said! I had to get a new trainer when I went through training with Swift. The first one was a complete idiot, but the second one was AWESOME! We had a great time out there and I learned a lot from him.
Thanks Injun, I got coded also there is a shortage of Mentors at my terminal. So I'm in a holding pattern for a mentor now. I did read TD's thread and know this possibility does exist, I hope that I don't have that situation. Be safe out there.

Thanks Kinghunter! Congrats Longshot - I hope they find a mentor for you soon. The important thing is that you made it though orientation successfully and got a driver code! I'm sure you won't have to wait too long for a mentor.
Well according to driver services rep they are behind 20 mentors before counting my class, ugh this could really suck hard. Oh well it is what it is take it in stride and hope some of the ppl from outside schools give up and shortens the list.
Well, am on my second day out with my mentor. He is a nice guy, and a safe driver. He is very laid back, much like myself. I did not drive yesterday as the weather was nasty. I did drive today though! The weather was nice, so I got to drive across Nebraska and into Wyoming. Saw 2 wrecked dryvan trailers in the median in Nebraska. Other than that, it was a pretty dull trip.
Congrats on getting a good mentor, ditto here I got mine yesterday morning. We're sitting in Edwardsville terminal today preplanned for Dallas tomorrow.
Glad to hear that longshot! Today we had to drive through western half of Wyoming, and deliver to a city north of Salt Lake City UT. My mentor drove quite a bit today cause weather and roads were nasty. We picked up an empty, nd are headed back east through Wyoming again tomorrow.
You got the lots to learn rite I been out here a long time and still learn everyday just remember you get out of it what you put into it. Hope it all works out for you and the rest of the new arrivals to the trucking industry.
