Looks like you guys are describing a method where you use one continuous length of rope for the entire length of the load. Weaving the rope up and down between the rubrail and the d-rings. That makes a little more sense.
What our guys do is use one short piece of rope for each d-ring. I have only seen one tarped load come into the yard, and I only saw it from a distance. I would have liked to go up and take a closer look, but they had the tarp pulled off before I even had a chance.
By the way, @kylefitzy and @Long FLD, thanks for the pics. That is some very impressive tarp work! -
Good point, didn't think of that!

I suppose you could use one piece for each d-ring. Don’t know why you would. It would be a lot slower with no real benefit that I see.
cke, IH9300SBA, IH Truck Guy and 2 others Thank this. -
True, but that’s a lot of extra knots.

Well I'm subscribed to this thread. I've always been curious about using rope or bungee rope. I currently use it on the front and back of the tarps but never found the extra time to work it into my work flow while tarping currently...

Good lord . That's a work of art !

It’s really not much if any slower. And no hooks to wear through the tarp
