I didn't know that you had just posted those pics but yes, I spent SEVERAL minutes looking at those photos over and over! I'm not sure what you meant tho about not having the space to fit the fridge in the traditional spot, I thought all the trucks had a big enough space in the same spot to fit the fridge. Guess we'll just have to wait and see when we get our own truck to know where we would put everything.

Last week I was looking at Walmarts flier and saw a dorm sized fridge for sale for around $87. I think the time to buy stuff like that will be this time of year, back to school.

Hubby and I are almost done with our first week of school. We are a little overwhelmed with all the things we have been learning. Add to that a 3:30 am wake up time every morning and I am one tired girl lol.

I'm not in the biz yet but I thought that as long as you are a company driver it will always be forced dispatch? Only if you are a lease or o/o would you not be force dispatched? smh...

Well, I only have just over 3 years in the business,,,not including the 35 years my dad had and the 15 my mom had..LOL but, there are alot of companys that brag about non Forced dispatch,,and frankly, I don't care if they say they are Forced dispatch, I am the captain of my ship and if I don't want to or just cant take the load, I will not and there should be no reason to fire someone for that. Now if a driver decides he just don't want to goto TX because it is hot or MI because it is cold...LOL That won't work out, as a company driver. Schneider is a non-forced dispatch company but you can only turn down two loads a year. In my 3 years with them, I only turned down one, well sort of.. I couldn't go into Canada because I did not have proper documents but I took the load to a location that suited them. All that being said, I don't have a problem taking any load, unless it is a load that will take me in the wrong direction,,like home time. I always give plenty of notice about home time, and sometimes night dispatch doesn't pay attention. They give you a load going to CA when you are slated to go home. I only go home, for the most part, for Military duty, so I have to be there..

Question for ya: Does US Xpress give you enough time to make your loads on time, or is it usually pretty tight where you are having to hammer down to make it on time? Do you most always have to run most of or all of your 11 hours each every day? And how often do you run out of hours where you have to do a 34 hour reset?

needing to get a 34 every 6-9 days is a good thing, it shows you are running close to 600 miles a day, as to how hard you have to run each load is different, sometimes (solo) you have 24-36 hr's to go 600 miles other loads you will have 11 hr's. as a team we did ezpedited , air freight, and fedex almost exclusively so how ever many miles divided by 50-53 mph and thats how long we had to get their.

we would go fom boise to chicago to boise to chicago to boise (6708 paid miles) in 6 days take sunday off and do it again the next week, we had that run for 18 months, in over 8 years we have never been late except for weather or breakdown,

now that we are o/o's if we run 4000 a week we are working to much, we still run hard it's just that now we have 3 days a week off (most of the time)

You will have time. We have never had a service violation. As a team. a 34 is a pretty rare event. We can usually live off of the hours we get back at midnight.

That depends on what board you are on and how well you time manage
    Fedex transits are 45-50mph average
    Amazon 45mph
You can run as hard or as little as you want depending on the FM

So after a number of calls back and forth, we have been asked and have said yes to joining a new fleet running into Canada. We hate leaving our fleet manager and he is not pleased either as he said he is losing his three best teams to this new fleet. Looking forward to this new adventure starting November 1st. Just need to figure out how to afford cell and internet service in Canada.
