God the texas construction zones with the narrow lanes are infuriating.. I think the worse ones are the one in el paso .. it's so bad I've been taking the 375 loop around the city anymore.. only got a couple miles of it then... still guys go hauling ### thru there maybe 2 inches away from banging mirrors.. me hoping they can keep it in their lane. I have avoided getting hit thru there atleast 2 dozen times or more.

Possibly. Colorado does have a small rest area-dot yard on 287, rest area part has been closed for a while. It does go single lane at that point.
Fort Collins to Laramie is only 60 miles. The rest area is almost half way. Just south of the state borders. So the tailgate for 50 miles is an exaggeration then.

Thing is, the driver of the 4 wheeler put them in that situation. Even 287 has quite a bit of 2 lanes each way. If this story is true, it could have been easily avoided.

I-25 has a rest area approximately 10 miles south of the I-80 interchange. I 80 has the scenic view/rest area about 12 miles west of the I-25/I-80 interchange. Then the rest area at the start of the Laramie grade.

Oxbow did consider 287, and it is the most likely location. It has the closest match to the vague description.

Yeah, as Oxbow suggested... I believe this matches 287. There is a small turn out area along that stretch somewhere near the border... and if memory serves me it also necks 2 lanes into 1 about that same area.

Yeah, provided it's legit 4 wheeler, he's just not Trucker-wise to know how to describe his locale, mileage nor even his direction, as he says both Wyoming/Colorado border. Landmarks on both sides of 287 match his description, and since he didn't give the actual road, we really can't assume anything., so we should just thank them for the kind words, and move on. :)

It was on HWY 287 coming over that pass at the Wyoming/Colorado border. Dangerous stretch of road up by the rest area

That is why I hate running 2 lanes with lots of truck traffic anymore... to many tards that are willing to kill a half dozen people just to try and get 20 feet in front of you.... that's a average day on us93 between Vegas and jackpot nv...

I am beyond grateful for this driver and I don’t know how you any of you truck drivers can put so much time and sacrifice into keeping the economy moving for the rest of us. You are out there risking your lives daily, away from your families and on top of that saving lives. I can’t believe the reckless driving of the reefer guy, but that is just one guy. Thank you all for what you do.
