Believe it or not I was about 80% decided on SNI . Not saying I'm not still but need to do a little rethinking as to this development . I was down to SNI or LS and was definitely swaying in the SNI direction due to simplicity of the board and no agents etc .
How struct are they in this no headset ( hands free ) on the cell deal .
I can can handle not doing it in the yard or even 10-15 miles from a yard but not all the time unless the truck is stopped thing .
Do they do like Walmart and make you sign a waiver to release your phone records at any time or us it just an official / I unofficial rule. ?
Thanks -
No different then company's jumping on sleep apnea testing and mandating it before dot or using elogs before dot mandate .
the mary trucker Thanks this. -
Moosc
i got no issues with playing by the rules or running legal on a EOBR but in today's time and tech it's asking someone to go back to the 80's before cell phones . People are just used to making calls now days and answering . I do nothing without a hands free so I'm even cool with that..
On a second note
schneider wrote the fmcsa about 6 months ago or so about how it was a unfair advantage that they went to EOBR logs before most and now with capacity shortages in some markets are unable to stay competitive service wise ( on time ) with the companies that are not on EOBR and hence asking the fmcsa to mandate them sooner .
I xan can see this being another quick step to the same when drivers are not willing to give up the liberty of making a hands free call . -
Maybe I'm just being a wimp .. I still like the SNI model just not the no hands free rule
-
Plenty of drivers use hands free while driving. Just don't get caught.
Chopper1776 and runningman0661 Thank this. -
as of now no they dont make you sign that kind of agreement.Jar-Head Thanks this. -
Just don't be driving when you call Schneider.....
And don't be talking when you have an accident...
Other than that, it's all good...Jar-Head Thanks this. -
