I think this is my first time hauling over 40k this year, LOL. Though maybe I did one other one towards the beginning... can't remember. Anyway, liked this load so decided to suck it up. Went down 81 to TN, nothing but hills the whole way. I decided to do the patented DFO DPF DEEP CLEAN aka set the cruise at 67 MPH the entire way with a 44klb load. Yeah don't think I'll have gotten stellar MPG on this trip...

After pulling little light loads for so long I forgot just how hard this truck will pull. With the low rear gears it just freight trained the entire way down to TN, I was passing absolutely EVERYTHING on the hills. Its too bad the thing is so friggin heavy that I can't pull many heavy loads without being over axle or gross because it is set up perfectly to pull them. The only time I had to come out of 13th gear was on the big hills around Roanoke, other than that I stayed in high gear the entire time.

Tomorrow back up to Carlisle assuming I don't waste time having to find an empty...

Oh yeah not worried about 80lbs over on an axle, just had to post it to show why I have to be so careful pulling heavy loads with this truck. That was with the trailer tandems slid ALL the way up, and the 5th wheel ALL the way back, LOL.

Told them when I got the call from finance that I wanted an oil sample and ecm download. He told me that it would not be a problem.

Im always over 12000 on the steer axle (with heavy loads). I particularly like it that way in the winter so there's more weight on the steers. There really isn't any rule/regulation that says you HAVE to be under 12000. It really is more based on the tire rating. I've heard from other drivers that 12500 is the magic number that DOT starts to get curious about. But really, 12000 seems to be just a generic placeholder as you can't be over 34000 on either tandem, add in the 12000 and there's your 80000 gross. Ive gone over scales on more than a few instances in the 12300-12400 range, never a peep.

Ok kool. Just wondering cuz sfi called me asking for my llc or inc info as if it was required. I left a message saying I'm coming on as a sole proprietory for now. Just curious. . Did u incorporate your business? If so which way did u go and why? I know the obvious reasons for doing it ie.. taxes and just overall protection of your assets. So let me know what you're doing.

Before you take my bad ideas serious keep in mind that different states have different rules regarding steer axle weight limits lol

I really doubt you'd get by with 20k on the front axle of your average OTR truck which has an axle rated for 12k (maybe 13.2k if you've got big 46k rears) and tires good for 12,500lbs lol.
