Here is a crazy idea. If someone from the dealership drives it is it still insured? Is it still insured up until the same is complete? Do you get a test drive? If the answer to any of that is yes get the dealer to drive it to your house or test drive it there complete the deal at your kitchen counter and drive the sales employee back

That's what I would have done if it was close by. Unfortunately its around 2 hours away and being a smaller dealership I understand why they can't just drive it up here on a whim. The sales guy said he might be able to work something out to get it up here for me... we will see. If not I'm OK having a 3rd party transport it up here for me.

DFO, call OOIDA. You can get 30 day insurance. Or use the bill of sale. put it in windshield and drive it home. I've done that a number of times. Went across scales and no questions asked. It would be like driving your POV. Not a CMV. No log required.

Tried OOIDA a couple days ago and they said they don't offer temporary insurance any more... thought it was odd, they were my first call.

Well the KW is officially mine!

I used some of the personal loan from the bank along with some of my own cash. I have the title since it wasn't an auto loan.

Enjoy reading all these I/C post. And the KW looks really good one of my favorite trucks. But I think its weird how your going from new to older. And jarhead going from older to new. Not knocking one or the other just thought was interesting.
