Had a load yesterday that had an appt. drop window of 1300-2000. Got there and it was an appt. for 2000 that CS never bothered to tell change in the system. Luckily a guy stayed late from 1st shift to unload me. Then I called my next customer that was a d&h appt. so I could drop last night. I got 100 miles into my trip before support shaft, yes shaft, got back to me.

What a funny world this is, lol. Guess its just these small towns that always do things a little different, lol. 1:45am, I'm sound asleep, BANG BANG BANG on my door. Aww crap, maybe if I don't move they'll just leave me alone... PLAY DEAD DFO PLAY DEAD!! Few more seconds, BANG BANG BANG. Crap, maybe I should see what they want, maybe its the police. Probably someone wanting me to move. Or something else.

No, just a guy from the customer I was delivering to, he says "sorry to wake you up, sometimes we get loads from you guys and I saw you sitting there and just figured I'd see".

So, back down the street, he lets me in the gate, hands me the signed paperwork, has me drop my trailer in the door and that was that. No empties, crap. In my sleepiness I didn't think to ask him if he was going to unload it tonight, I'm sure they will, since he seemed eager enough for me to drop the load tonight since he woke me up. They're probably bored and want something to do, lol. I'll check back in the morning and see if its empty, hopefully it is because I don't know of any places remotely nearby that have empties for me to pick up. In the meantime, back to my spot down the street.

    Ok, back to sleep, lol.

Lonesome, Grijon and Chopper1776 Thank this.

Thanks, luckily I went and checked at the customer I dropped at and they finished unloading the trailer I had last night, and let me take it. Then it was off to KC in Owensboro, waited around there for the office staff to show back up and finally got out of there with my load headed down to McDonough. I made it to the Atlanta OC tonight, so if anyone's here, come say hi.

Don't have another load picked out yet - about to hit the load board and see what we've got. Got 20 hours left on my 70, and don't regain any until Tuesday, so it could actually work out well, 2 full 10 hour days and then start recaps, or just take a reset depending on loads and what I'm feeling.

Start recap or take a reset? Those always confused me? Can someone please explain the two and I take it you have a choice between the two?

    Thanks!! Dennis

recap means you will use the hours you gain back , its what truckers used to do to keep running before HOS changes.

RESET means you sit for a minimum of 34 hours with two time periods of 1am to 5 am within that 34 hour time frame and it restores or resets your 70 hour clock.

What it comes down to is 34 hr reset will allow you to bust ### for 5-6 days between 9-14 hours work a day and take a couple off, get your 70 back.

OR work/drive no more than 8.5 hours or so and work every single day you wish with no time off needed if you were so inclined. You would continually gain those 8.5 hours back at 8 days and beyond.
