Careful scales have been checking for those ifta decals. Sure way to get a nice inspection. PA has been hitting hard even have scales open that do nothing.

Don't we have until 3/1 to get the new stickers on?

If any weigh station is going to stop me its gonna be the one on 85 south not too far from the NC border in VA, I have not ONCE been greenlighted through there on prepass.

See, if I even get close to the Northeast it all goes to crap.

9am appt at C&S Wholesale Grocers up here in York, PA. Get here right around 8 (took an hour to get 26 miles from Carlisle), park, walk the bills in, get told to wait.

915 jockey pulls up and gives me my door assignment.

Qualcomm says 1 hour live unload (apparently these times are based off of previous reports from drivers).

lol. 12:30 rolls around. Finally get out of the door. Look in back of trailer. Several rejected boxes.

Walk to the office. Get told that it'll be another 45 minutes to an hour while they count my freight.

I have a 1400 appointment about 30 miles away for my next pickup. If I woulda been rolling out of here by 1245, no problem.

But now there is no way because I'm being delayed even further.

I call in to Charlotte (10m on hold), explain that I won't be able to make the pickup appointment. She hems and haws about how I should have called earlier. I explain that had I rolled out of here when I got off the dock and grabbed my bills I would have been fine, but that the additional time spent waiting for them to count the freight and however long it will take to sort out a solution about what to do with the rejected boxes will make me late, and I called in as soon as I knew there was an actual delay that would make me late. She hems and haws some more and says that she'll message me letting me know what to do, that they may try to reschedule me for later or I may have to pick up tomorrow.

Of course there's always the chance that they might try to repower it and charge me the $500, possibly citing that I should have called earlier. That wouldn't go over well with me, seeing as had things gone as planned I would still have been able to make the pickup, and as SOON as I knew I would not be able to make the pickup, I called in.

But, nothing bad yet, still waiting on the message from SNI about what they want me to do.

Tell me, what would you guys have done in my position? 0900 delivery, next pickup at 1400. Unload takes a while but you get off the dock at 1230, and still have time to make the 30 miles to the next pickup (before knowing about the additional delays).

Every time I've called in "early" with any delay-related issues, they always ask "well what time will you be getting out of there", and the only response I can give them is "I don't know", to which SNI says "well if you don't know there's nothing we can do, so call in when you do". Because of course nobody actually knows and asking someone at the receiver will only piss them off because honestly they have no idea either, it gets done when it gets done.

Not trying to give or not take blame, just curious about what the best way to handle this with SNI is.

You should know better than that LOL. C&S in York PA is an automatic 3.5-4 hour adventure. Anytime you get live unloaded at any C&S don't ever expect any less than 4 hours.

I was at C&S in York, PA three weeks ago dropping a load of tissue paper. I arrived a half hour early and was in a dock and unloaded in a hour. It took them 6 hours to inventory the load and give me my paperwork. $175.00 lumper fee. SNI KNOWS ABOUT THIS PLACE!!!

bro, you just gotta go with what you know......you did the right thing and booked your loads properly. Probably the only thing I would have done differently is called the shipper for your next pick up and explain the deal.....99% of the they say, "no problem. We'll be here till midnight. Get here when you can.", rather than call Schneider.
Here's the 'lesson learned'; Whenever possible, leave SNI out of the mix. Real world.....they really don't care when you get there, just so long as the freight gets picked up.

and the $500 deal....AGAIN, that's only if you get under the shipment in the first place.....as long as you don't pick it up, you won't be charged.
