If a computer gives you a true random number, it is time to get a new computer. Computers are basically overgrown calculators. When you use it to try to generate something random, you are asking a machine designed for predictability and logic to produce an illogical and unpredictable result. It can't do it. Try it yourself, download a random number generator program. After a while you will notice a pattern in your results. I have played with home computers since the days of the VIC 20 and Tandy T1000. I used to be able to read and write BASIC like English.

When you need a true random number you have to do it manually. You would not believe what the lottery goes through to produce true random drawings. Those balls have to be perfectly matched just for starters. I worked at the lottery for a while. Even the tickets have to produce specific results and are checked to make sure.

I worked there over 12 years. Some years I got tested a lot, some years I hardly got tested at all if any. It usually comes up at the beginning of a quarter.

Lists get distributed to dispatch near the beginning of the quarter, you then have until 2 weeks before the end of the quarter to complete your list until it gets taken over by safety. It's not hard to complete the test in that amount of time, the most I ever had on my list was 13 drivers and that came out to about 1/4 of my fleet at that time.

In my time there I've had 1 positive test and 1 refusal to test. The refusal cracked me up because it was a random alcohol only and he was afraid he was going to test positive for weed. Just take the test, not taking it is the same as failing it.

when you speak of alcohol test what do you mean? That you aren't drunk at the time of test? How does that work? Can they call me in after sometime and demand an immediate test?

Oddly, somehow all of a sudden, when i originally planned on going back out Wednesday, i let the FM know Tuesday morning, i needed a extra day off for family matters.. no biggie right? now all of a sudden theres concern about my extra time off this trip and when i was hurt last time home that its affecting my miles and its be coming a concern.. its not one when I'm out there sitting is it, why is it when I'm here, sound alot like a company FM explaining why they use hrs off and not days lmao.. I know what it affects, I'm not stupid. y on earth do they care, except the fact it might put a check upside down.... cry me a river lol i got it covered.

They track home time, can't be giving you too much home time. Bad for utilization, I knew they were doing it for company drivers, guess they're starting to worry about l/p guys as well.

still just a random, just no drug portion. Maybe I'm confused. I might be. i don't know. Anyways, he should have gone.

you could do a reasonable suspicion test, but they never do that. Even when we see a guy stumble out of a cab at 3AM and then puke down the side of his truck.
