    There's no such thing.

Not sure what the problem is though. Sounds like you have the right mindset about driving and nobody can force you to be reckless.

that's awful i will not cause that. i know my truck is a 10 wheeler but when its loaded its 68,000 lbs. that's still an enormous amount of weight to be pulling around. once when i was driving by myself the light turned red rather quickly and i braked hard to not go through it. i know what takes to stop when its loaded.

this guy also said cops go easier on truck drivers, i dont think i believe him. he said you can get away with things like speeding a little that you wouldn't get away with in a car. i have a hard time believing him.

i was probably giving myself 6-8 seconds following distance. something happens i want adequate time to react. the commercial drivers manual states for a 40' vehicle at 40 mph 4 seconds minimum, for every additional 10' of vehicle length add 1 second, for every additional 10 mph add 1 second. i don't care if i end up sitting at a red light and loosing 2-3 minutes. those could be the 2-3 minutes that save a life, my own life, or at the very least my MVR.

Lots of people think like that guy. Just smile, nod and do what you think is right.

Don't let anyone push you to do something stupid. Obviously you know that already but as you can see by the replies many are happy to reaffirm what you already know.

    Seek out employment.

Or. Get rid of that trainer. He is everything toxic for you, lives around him and all that.

Save yourself. To Hell with that bad trainer. Disregarding a little? Ha. He's going to get into a situation that he cannot get out of one day and get someone mashed bad or killed.

Remember. YOU are in the drivers seat. YOU are responsible for whatever you do with that truck, its YOUR ARSE finanically and possibly freedom lost to prison or worse.

If that was my trainer telling me to go like that if I don't want or plan to? I would have pulled over right then and there, reached across and opened the pax door and tell him Out. One way or another, he's either gone or I am gone. It's that simple.

Tell the guy when your driving, is your ship, if he doesn't like it, you'll drop him at the next light
