Was he on Seal Team 6? Maybe a millionaire that's trucking, just for something to do?

    Yep, I've heard all those.

Sometimes it pays not to make eye contact in a diner...

Delivered my WI load. Got another one out of southern WI headed for a Lowes DC in NC. Gonna be a lazy weekend i guess. Its noon, Im at a truck stop within half a mile of the shipper. Cant load until 7am. Then its 16hrs drive time to the receiver, with whom i have a noon appointment for monday. So i get my first 34 away from home while im in NC.

Im loving this run, although i wish it was steadier for better pay. I got to drive through chicago before traffic started, and I can now say Ive seen the Mississippi river. Its frigging great. Although I am definitely missing the wife and the little one... At least video chat helps with that

Stopped for fuel and a 30 in beloit, IN en route to thomaston, NC.

    Ive realized a few things

#1: I absolutely love this part of the country. For thr most part i feel pretty much at home.

#2: Im really missing red hot dogs. The huge beer can sized "all beef hot dogs" at flying j and the others just aren't hot dogs to me... And the steamed buns that EVERY gas station at home has, dont exist elsewhere. Its incredibly disappointing. @Slim51 will know what im talking about here lol

I felt like you would like Wisconsin. It is one of my favorite states to go to. I've never been to Maine. I'm sure it is beautiful.

Maine is quite beautiful, but it really depends on where you go and what you find interesting. If you ever get the opportunity i encourage you to visit. But if you dont go further north than portland it doesnt count.

Took my time today. Loaded at 7am in prairie du chien, WI. Shipper sent me back down the road to the truck stop to tarp lol. No big deal, Ive grown to enjoy tarping in nice weather... I feel like im good at it lol

Slowly made my way eastward. No reason to rush, my delivery isnt until noon on monday so i have a day off in there somewhere. It has been nice not having to rush so much.

Parked at the pilot off 74 in Oakwood, IL for the evening.

Gonna get relatively close to my receiver tomorrow and shut down for a 34. Any suggestions on a good spot within a reasonable distance of Lexington, NC?

    More to come later

    Stay safe out there

I second that. Although Portland is a really cool city. I feel like such a loser for how much I love Maine lol. If I ever leave, it’s going to be to another country.

I've never been there so can't say if it is a good truck stop or not but there is a TA at exit 170 on I-40 in Mocksville. Have a safe trip!

If you ask me, it feels more like New Brunswick than any part of the US I’ve been to.
