Well, it's been a while. I am now officially a free agent. I haven't done much looking, but I've had an offer to haul local hazmat to and or from the mine out near Florence Az. Sounds good, but I haven't made any decisions, catching up on home time still!

My time at SWIFT was okay, I must admit. I've heard the horror stories of the puppy mill companies, but I can honestly say that I didn't experience much horror with SWIFT. Communication was lacking most of the time, but that's to be expected when you DM has 60 other drivers straight out of school. Don't know what's next, but it'll be something! I'll let y'all know.

Hey now, rules are rules. If we are expected to follow the rules, everyone else should be too. i say charge the pay for the second driver to the planner that couldn't get his info right.

    Mr H,
I am surprised you quit without another fish on the hook.

Couldn't make money anymore. DM couldn't/wouldn't help and Phoenix didn't do anything about it either. My last 7 days OTR with swift got me $74 net.

$74? Is it that bad out there?

I don't think its really that bad out there, I went to headquarters in phoenix and talked to a fleet manager about transfering terminals anf the first thing out of his mouth was "wow, you're not getting any miles." But he wouldn't do anything about transfering me without fontanas approval. Took a week off waiting for a response from someone about it and got nothing.

Without a good DM, you'll go nowhere fast. Not that my DM was bad, I just think he was overwhelmed with new drivers. He was a DM for entry level drivers. I rarely had problems, so I assume he didn't look at my truck much... busy babysitting the drivers that needed a hand to hold everyday I guess.

FYI...I haven't given up posting. Nothing really to post about and I've been in a squabble with Swift over a few issues. It will all come to a conclusion, one way or another, within a few days.

    Sheriff out.
