    Just remember, if you are only pulling broker loads, they are going to get very cheap in the winter. Flatbedding slows in the winter and rates from brokers drop to van rates.

    So if you are switching trying to get better rates, it is not likely to happen until spring/summer.

    Numerous times I've been rejected by shippers on loads I knew I would have no problems with because they didn't know what a conestoga was. I think with the slim pickins right now you're best off with a van. Maybe in the future keep the van and look for a 53' step with ramps as well.
