I won't buy another RM product. I'm not interested in a company that flat out lies about features it does not have. Doesn't matter if it was upcoming or not. Box clearly says it has the feature it should have it. Not whenever they get around to it.

I have delivered to this road and received the restricted warnings. One end is very tight coming off the main
drag through town ( this is where the restriction warning is given ) . If you enter from the other end, off
the main highways , you are clear to get to the industry docks.

Let's not start this again. You vented once and I explained that the feature was on the box, but due to unseen issues the feature did not make it on the TND in time for production.

Making the packing material is done way ahead of production and shipped to the manufacturing plant.

This thread is about the quality of RM products. This is a public forum. You have the right to respond to my posts as much as I have the right to respond to yours. I made a factual statement, you chose to comment on that statement.

If the boxes were pre printed I can understand not wanting to absorb those costs to correct the boxes. What I do not understand are the magazine ads, radio ads and YouTube videos. They all touted the toll feature. These could have been pulled at anytime. RM chose not to. It was the YouTube videos and radio ads that convinced me to buy the product for that feature and that feature alone.

Furthermore, if the boxes are pre printed I find it odd the user manuals are not. Let me explain, the boxes all proclaimed the toll features. The user manual made no mention of it.

If I purchased a RM product direct from RM and paid by check and that check bounced would this be an acceptable answer to your company? "Do to unforeseen issues I have no money in the bank, however in the near future there should be money in that account. I can't tell you when exactly, but when I do I will let you know. By the way, in order to cash that check when the money is present you will have to go online and download an update to that check first."

So on top of having unreliable products RM engages in false advertisement and deceptive tactics in order to sell their products. Isnt it interesting how "honest mistakes" conveniently benefit the company by earning them more profits.

I learned early on that once you get a CDL EVERYONE wants to rob you of your hard earned money. Rand McNally is no different it seems.

I agree that Rand McNally GPS units are junk. I had two of them. And they both were returned. The features, however, are pretty bad ###. If they would step up the quality control issues on the units themselves, I would toss my dezl and buy a RM 5". Now my Rand McNally motor carriers atlas, cannot live without it. Ever. That's the key though. Even the best GPS is junk without a user who has a brain. But RM units don't matter because the hardware is junk.
