It could have been much much worse. That's the bright side here.

I almost dropped a fully loaded one in the day.

It makes an awful racket. Stopped, and it stopped on my drives.

When you crank that bad dude back up with 44K in, then you'll know.

I high hooked one when I first started driving and it slid right off to the side as I pulled out of my spot. Bent the landing gear and turned me beet red from the embarrassment.

Ive only ever dropped one... And it was empty. But it didnt go clear to the ground, I got stopped before it dropped off the frame.

I have helped several drivers crank up loaded trailers that they have dropped.

I wonder if this will make it onto Bonehead Truckers on YouTube. Some of the incidents on there should not be blamed on the truck driver, but it is still kind of entertaining.

Ugh. Happened to me in a rail yard, but I dropped it right where it was parked. Destroyed my air lines and embarrassed me. Lesson learned

I drove for 42 years, I would like to say, "I never dropped one", but if I said that I would be lying. But I never had one go all the way to the ground!

I was just about to say the same thing.

There are many safety steps built into every routine we do for a reason. If you have a bad day and miss safety step #2 but not safety step #4 ya might learn why the crank has a low gear setting but at least the trailer won't be on the ground.
Never, ever believe this can't happen to you. Complacency will usually lead to a sit down with the safety officer.
