Buy new. If you plan on staying in trucking don't screw around with somebody's cast off junk. There's a reason why so many companies trade their trucks in at 4 or 5 hundred thousand. They don't want to eat the downtime that a truck in the shop costs.
Fair warning...once you get a brand new truck you'll never be satisfied with used trucks again.

It’s the trucker path. It’s much better than a couple years ago.

    Here’s why:

I seem to go through Garmin GPS systems every two years. They just brick on me. I’m just tired of $600 for a #### platform with data that is always lying to me. Soooo… iPad and trucker path plus the newest Rand McNally book and hammer GPS. Trucker path is using what is a slightly down graded version (IMO) of google maps. Plus it has a a lot of the info that TP has that I like.

Carry a mini with me as well. Can hot spot off the phone if need be. Usually free wi-fi at a truck stop if available.

Sort of strange news about Garmin. Not had any problems with the ones I’ve had. They seem to find some of these places in the middle of nowhere we go to. Truthful, don’t really need it that much, tend to go to the same places. The farmers don’t like the coop’s moving around.

Why the interest in a new truck? What’s going on with the truck you have now?

    Dale thompson Thanks this.

My beloved state of California, if I understand correctly, will not be allowing trucks with in excess of 800k miles into the State starting in 2026.

I love my truck. It’s beautiful, reliable, efficient, and really a great piece of machinery. I don’t want to get rid of it, but if I have to I want to do while it will still have some life in California available. Resale value.
Plus I’m over manual transmission and I want more room inside. Daisy the dog is a space hog.
