Yup, company trailer. It’s an odd one with the weld/holes failing…not my monkey-not my circus kinda a deal.
This will go down on my permanent record...

It’s not an uncommon failure maybe the welder was having a bad day or physical damage from driver abuse (fleet trailers do suffer untold abuse) looking at the break for rust will give a clue as to how long ago it happened.

I’m constantly surprised that trucking has afforded me the ability to lead the life I wanted to, and part of the measure was being able to do more for my son for his future. Of course it’s a balancing act with time at home and incoming revenue. My wife is a real hero in always making sure that I’ve got what I need and filling me with love and appreciation.
My truck now has over 900,000 miles on it. The poor grill on this thing had seen a lot. The clips finally broke and it was time to replace it.
I’m still on the hunt for a new truck. Prices for the lightly used Volvo 860’s seem to be going down. I looked at a truck back in April and it’s gone down about 10k. Now if I can walk that tightrope and do something if interest rates drop I’d be golden. Patience is a luxury when you’ve got good equipment.Dale thompson, kemosabi49, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this. -
My schedule has been pretty solid for the last 30 weeks or so. Basically out 4-5 days and home for 2-3. A nice ancillary benefit is making homemade Italian food from my mother recipes, and things with a bit more upscale style.
hope not dumb twucker, Dale thompson, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Keep on top of the maintenance on that truck. It will pay you back.
Don’t just look local for the potential replacement. Might find a hidden deal somewhere across the country.otterinthewater, Dale thompson and dwells40 Thank this. -
Get ahead of the curve to find out how to buy a truck in or out of state and avoid California use tax if possible. Contact the California CDTFA for information.
