Assuming my son gets a pre-hire offer while finishing up CDL school how long is he given before he has to report for training?

To many variables to get a real answer. Best to ask the company he intends to sign on with.

That's your sons call.Companies have orientation every week, some twice a week.He tells recruiter when hes available to start and the recruiter will set him up for orientation that week.

Oh, good. Time for getting stuff he needs, then.

Mom and Dad on lean budget, trying to finance everything without adding credit bills. Tuition was bad enough.

Not planning to - he just needs a few basics - steel-toed boots come to mind. Only one more payday for us before classes are over. Just wanting to make sure he's not rushed out the door too unprepared.

It helps that he graduates on Good Friday. He turns 21 that same week the day before his CDL test and at least wamts one night to celebrate afterwards and two days to pack.
