Without truck drivers the rail yards would go broke so we have the power to improve wages and working conditions if we act collectively.
Time to stand up drivers!

Why do you need a collective? If you do not like it find something else to do.
-
Why are we allowed to vote multiple times?
I voted for both.
#solidarity
#willworkslim shady Thanks this. -
Thats the option I would choose. The rail yards are never going to change their policies without government intervention or a crippling strike. Good luck with either. Too many desperate poor people in this country for a driver to compete with. Rail yard drivers are a dime a dozen.

Took me 2 beers to get thru this thread, just thirsty thats all.
I am very familiar with this rail yard the op is referring to, this place is or can be a pain to get in and out of.
Every now and then I get stuck doing ISO tanks when were slow.
But did I read he waited a whole 25 min. Before getting angry and saying f### it?
25 min? #### that there is a short fuse -
You could’ve spent the 25 minutes watching Scottie videos

I might could garner a little sympathy for the cause but damit too many of those port haulers just seem dangerous and live in an "all about me world". But the good news is, there's at least 3 that won't be there that day ...

First of all... my self respect and personal value placed me where I am. I have worked hard to get to this point. I don't have your problems because I made choices that didn't put me in that kind of environment. I have hauled containers from the yards on my deck. Part of the process is always waiting. Thats why when I do pick up a container, I only do specialty hauls that are not common to what you do.
Your lack of patience, self entitlement, and lack of maturity got you banned from there. Color it any color you want. But the problem is you. Einstein is quoted as saying that stupidity is doing the same thing more than once and expecting a different outcome. So in my opinion if you continue hauling the same things, for the same type of business, under the same conditions, then you have created the environment in which you are so angry about.
If you want things to change, then you must first be the one to change.

So unions are "bad", yet we should "organize", "mobilize", "go on strike ", all "united for the common purpose" ...?
I need an aspirin...
