Rookie or not, the speed limit is set for a reason. And that reason is NOT for you verterans (sic) to treat it like the minimum speed for the highway. I'm not telling you how to drive, I'm telling you to either abide by the law or park it. :biggrin_255:

That's not true. If you get awarded CSA points, the company can data-que the points. A lot of times, the company does it without the driver even knowing. Sometimes it helps if your companies safety man knows the details, so it could help in fighting it.

I've heard that points from warning tickets can't be data-q'ed, since there was never an official citation that can be challenged...?

Very True windsmith. It is also illegal to use a radar detector in a commercial vehicle.

    http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?reg=392.71

    Subpart G - Prohibited practices

§ 392.71Radar detectors; use and/or possession.(a) No driver shall use a radar detector in a commercial motor vehicle, or operate a commercial motor vehicle that is equipped with or contains any radar detector.(b) No motor carrier shall require or permit a driver to violate paragraph (a) of this section.[58 FR 67375, Dec. 21, 1993]

    No.

Any inspection can be requested to be reviewed(DATAq'ed). There should be a valid premise such as misinterpretation of reg, Officer POV, Equipment application.......

People asking for a change simply because the did not like the warning, asking for a reduction or removal for "fairness" will likely never have an inspection changed.

What you can not do with a warning is challenge or get it reduced in court. IMO you shouldn't be able to get it reduced anyway. Either your guilty or not and tickets going to court should reflect on verdict or the other. Allowing reductions has fostered the mentallity of being responsible for ones actions is unfair.

I'm am looking at a new drivers PSP. No points just a detail of what has happened with him in terms of inspections. We could assign the points but it would be us doing that and not FMCSA.

With our growth we have been paying extra attention to how insurance companies rate drivers and how that is going to change, if at all. Most are using PSP as a way to decide on a boarder line driver. None that I would consider using use PSP.

I read that you do not even have a year total experience so i will assume that you went to a truck driving school, that you impede the traffic flow by driving less than the posted speed limit in the middle lane, and that you do not even drive a truck that does 70.

do you not understand what assuming does? reference the preceeding paragraph please. Oh wait! I nailed it regarding you didn't i driver? i forgot to add that you are told how to drive from the passenger seat and still know next to nothing regarding trucking/transportation other than what you are spoon fed.

i don't pull a flatbed nor am i a stick hauler so 47,500 can not be legally scaled by me.I have one speeding ticket in the last 18 years of driving and zero accidents in 24 years. 69/55 in february 2011. I do drive a truck however,as opposed to what you "pilot", and i will leave it up to you on just how you interpret that. I highly doubt that csa was implemented to take me off the road. It is however, nothing but big brother taking over and to keep big companies like the one you drive for going and to squeeze the small outfit out.

I have been given many, many breaks over the decades by all forms of law enforcement.I have been hammered as well. It is all part of driving truck and you will eventually deal w/some form of fine/ticket/whatever IF you continue to drive.Perhaps you will get an "impeding the traffic flow" ticket one day for making traffic pass you on both sides and then upon weighing your rig on the side of the road, you will get a ticket for overweight w/that 47,500 that you pull.

carry on trainee. post your true thoughts 23 years from now and i bet they mirror mine today.

DUH.PRECISELY WHY i got the radar detector tickets. I am elated that you found that link as i had no idea that a radar detector is illegal in a commercial vehicle.Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention.

NO I am not trolling you but i do get several great laughs off of you every time i log on to this site. you new drivers, almost overwhelmingly, know it all and it is ALL true because your trainer told you from the passenger seat or from the bunk.

carry on but please do so in the far right lane.
