Yep I am aware of how they operate. This is why I would not deadhead any more than maybe 20 miles to pick something up for them.
TQL - "What kind of a rate would you need to make that work?"

I was wondering if someone would actually tell the broker where they currently were. I keep thinking that if I were calling on loads, I'd tell the broker I was 1 hour from the place, but only be 15-20mins, so that when they call me to tell me the load cancelled, I could say "Oh, well I'm already here, let me ask the shipping manager about that".
-
most times, i get a load and call the broker as i am at the gate
it is always good to be one step ahead of everyone, sometimes you jump the gun, other times, it pays offNURSE1 Thanks this. -
What happens if you accept a load from TQL, and when you are 10 minutes from shipper you see their 513 area code ringing on your phone, and you don't answer it and go ahead and pickup the load?
-
after i get that first call from them, i dont answer until i have the load and on my way
if the load is cancelled, i let the shipper tell me, not TQL -

wow....i know how you feel...o/o did a few loads with them.started great then came lies, false accusations, cheap freight....tql can just hang out and dry.they will take a load that is suppose to be damaged and sell it to someone thn want you to pay for it after not following produce rules...beware of tql

have had my bad run in's with being dispatched and be on my way or already there to pick up to be told the load is not available, and have had a shipper ask that i leave that another truck is picking up the load. So they do keep looking for cheaper trucks after confirmation been signed. as for tonu its like pulling teeth if you get any thing at all. took 1 load this year agent put me on 3 way with shipper, was told what time to be there. next morning after sitting for 8 hours tql agent said he could not charge customer detention time, now customer is standing there agreeing to the detention pay and lay over, agent told us to just leave if we didn't like. told shipper we was leaving and shipper gave us billing info and paid us directly to stay and pick up load, hats off to shipper great people. have not took TQL load since and won't don't need freight that bad
Nolelover61 Thanks this. -
