Whats the bad power steering pump be like do you guys know that? My steering wheel is like toyota car so light and unstabilize...
Grab hold of the steering shaft with the truck off and twist it. See if there is any play and or clunking in the steering gear. Have you greased the u joints in it lately. A lot of people miss the one up below the dash and the steering will stiffen up after awhile.
Hi , did you figure out what was the problem? I have exactly the same problem after changing the bushings on the springs on the drive axles...Please help...I tried aliglment, new tires, new shocks...nothing help...I'm scared and its not even wet or cold season..
And for what it's worth, the butt sway sure sounds like worn steer spindles. I should probably throw a disclaimer for that.... I just drive the dern things!
Ok maybe someone has had a similar situation and can help me out.. Here is what's going on.. my tractor Century 1999 got unstable like a hell after I replaced the bushings and U-bolts on the both rear drive axels springs.I start to notice that my drives were swaying in a fishtail sense when accelerating also on turns or going uphills and curves they also fishtail when I drive bobtail this is very scary I have to compensate with steering like in winter on black ice all the time especially on uneven roads or construction zones!!! when I make turns with a trailer hooked up I fishtail especially turning to a right curve and when accelerating and my tractor rear swings and slides as if I'm on an icy road and its a dry road... I had a full alignment done , put new drive tires, new shocks new leveling valve and no changes.. Any ideas? I feel like my rears are totally separate from the tractor.. what else could it be I have spent thousands of dollars trying to figure this out and I don't feel safe in my truck at this point for myself and others.. please help thank you in advance!
