Let’s all gather round for a big group hug. That’s what made the last thread so great was our differences. Just nobody try and grab my butt.

Sign posted outside of receiving door at my delivery this morning
062 and SteveScott Thank this. -
I had a bid on a Convoy load last week that was rejected. I know this particular pickup has a hard time getting trucks in there because their location is so far off the beaten path and there is a lot of deadhead miles for most carriers, but it's only about 80 miles from my home. This morning I had a text from Convoy offering me the load for $4.70 a mile on 950 miles which is almost double my bid that was rejected, but I can't get there in time for the scheduled pickup. It looks like the carrier that beat out my bid canceled on them. Waiting to hear if they can reschedule for tomorrow. I booked a $2,25 per mile load to replace it through Uber that picks up tonight, but I'll cancel that sucker if I can get this other load. Of course it delivers in Seattle, the belly of the beast right now. Some shippers and receivers are going to get desperate during this crisis. It may work out for us in the long run.

Here's what I'm seeing starting to see happen. Delivery times for food related supplies are not able to CONFIRM or what would normally pick today, deliver tomorrow can't deliver for 2 to 4 days.

I think what this forum needs most is a sarcasm meter. Mine would be tapped out most of the time. I think then most of us would understand each other better.
I'm off this week (Spring break plans from months ago) but married to a teacher who is happy as hail that she probably doesn't have to go back for awhile.
I think stuff like this is good for all of us. We all need a break on occasion. We all need to learn to not take easy things for granted (TP is a perfect example). We all need to reexamine our priorities, think outside the box, count the cost, plan for the future, etc. etc. There's so much good that could come out of this situation it's hard to even comprehend.
I'm hoping there will be a trailer with new brakes and a good paying load for me when I get back to work at the end of the week. -
Better invest in a porta-potty for the truck, boys! -

"I'm seriously thinking about parking my flatbed and renting a dry van right now because it's really slowed down for me."
Heard that from 2 buddies recently. LOL, all of the sudden guys think they're going to get rich hauling grocery supplies in a dry box?Dale thompson Thanks this.
