I WAS gonna ask you how long you been in the industry with such an 'inexperienced' comment.

    But then I read on.

Don't worry...you will find out in due time that it doesn't take ANYTHING for these large companies to find a reason (or even no reason at all) to steal money from your checks. ESPECIALLY your last check (if you even get one).
Money earned, is money earned. No other industry in this country tries to steal from their employee's like in trucking.
Example: CNC Machine Shop sends employee's to school to learn new advancements in the industry...employee accepts the education that the company paid for...employee uses new education to run machines for the employer for a month or two, then quits and accepts a job with a competitor company that pays better...company that paid for the education is pissed and absorbs the cost with no reward; but DOES NOT steal former employee's last check. I'VE WITTNESSED IT!!!

Every word of this statement is ########. I am so sick of this "idle shutdown" #### from people who don't have a clue. Above 70, the trucks will idle all day and all night and all the next day and so on and so on, until the truck runs out of fuel. Between 32 and 70, you have the bunk heater which will burn you up if you set it too high. Below 32, the truck will idle until it runs out of fuel.

    Got that?

Not completely true, but every Knight truck does has a tranny in it as well. Some come with two.

Trucks may be SET UP to do that...but doesn't always work. And I DO know what I'm talking about....I drove for Knight in 2004.
Technology may have gotten better by now; but my truck didn't idle AT ALL (period)....and when I complained about it, the shop (in Salt Lake City and Indianapolis) hooked up the computer and said "Computer shows it's working properly", and left it at that. Never did bother to start the truck, and watch it shut down---just sent me on my way.

I had to set the trailer brake, leave the tractor break off, stick a water jug on the foot pedal to up the idle and trick the computer into thinking the truck was moving if I wanted to get some sleep.

I drove for Knight 2003-2008 and when they set up no-idle conditions was 40-80 deg..and inside a truck with windows up to avoid mosquitoes at 80 deg was very uncomfortable when sleeping!

Found out the temp sensor was on the lower front of radiator on Volvos and put ice on to get to idle at the below 40 deg limit :p
