Two truckers killed trying to help crash victims

A simple key phrase that they had instructor said Wayback when I was in trucking school has always stuck with me.

He said, “the worst day of your life as a truck driver and the worst day of your life ever, Is when you look up from being distracted and realize in that moment you’re not going to stop in time”

The one thing I’ve learned to do and do automatically as a truck driver scan what’s going on as far down the highway as I can. I hate that feeling of having to break hard and I try to avoid it as often as possible.
