Mebee someone should start a site...."What I got paid."

That way everyone would know what loads pay from here to there.

Of course, that would mean that we would have to be honest with each other.

    Wait, no. Never mind.

So not on the load board, okay.
You want transparency before the agreement because you think it will improve your position in negotiations, you also don't want it posted on the load board, so when and where before the rate agreement is the true rate made available?

I thought that you asked me about IF that info is available on loadboards.
    So, I answered no.
    when and where?
I'd prefer it is done after the agreed rate... as a "non of my business" compromise.
After booking several loads on a lane within a certain time, a rate trend or pattern could be discerned.

If you don't have the information at the outset of the negotiation than what value does it have when rates fluctuate on a daily basis based on capacity?

Price discovery is a key component for free markets as supply and demand fluctuates and forcing the system into a less efficient manner to find an equilibrium price is nonsensical.

It does not fluctuate to the point of those rates becoming invalidated after a few weeks. The rates on the spot market do but those between shippers and carriers are more stable.

The regulations allow exactly this. So what are you asking to be added or changed? Are you asking that after that request that brokers are forced to continue doing business with you?

Does that regulation force them now to disclose that info without asking for it?
If they are obligated to disclose info automatically, they will have to do it for everyone. I would not even have to ask them for it. They won't even have to know if I care about it or not, it will be there no matter what.

Same here. Just got this email 2 days ago on a run we've done a few times now. They like our service so we're 1st call again before it even it's the boards. All our steady runs are like that, they give it to us before it hits the board. Then if we can't cover it they post it for cheaper than what we pull it for
