sounds like break in a heater hose, on the old freightliners right side by firewall is a shut off valve, this was a easy fix , with a screwdriver couple hose clamps and if no hose clamps wire works, i had a old chunk of heater hose with 10 hose clamp on it as a backup , i fixed a guy guys truck cause his heater hose sprung a leak, but if you shut that valve off you can still drive it , i used too shut the valve off ever summer never hurt anything.

Heck with your company.I would pull off the side and have them call a wrecker. If they give you a trk like that to drive that is spitting out collant they deserve to pay for a wrecker. So if you put more coolant in it,is that going to resolve the problem?

That's right, you put coolant in it, it's just going to spew out again,
your l/c is trying to put a band aid on severed artery, your truck needs a mechanic to look at...

It's probably simple, like the other poster said, lose clamp, blown hose, etc ..

You first need to calm down and then figure out your situation. When something happens, some get a little panicky as it seems like the worst thing ever. Calm down and then go out and check your oil, make sure you got some in it and then check for fluid leaks and see where it might be coming from so you can give good info to the desk jockey and shop. There are several reasons why the truck overheated and right now you are the only one with eyes on the situation. It will be ok lil fella, hang in there.:biggrin_25525:

Yeah, "HOT LOAD" was ALWAYS stamped in RED on all my bills.

i thought that it meant i needed to stop and have HOT tamales and then "do a hot load" in the terlit.

I disregarded the "hot load" stamp, long, long ago, and never had any problems.

Yeah. I got a load this morning that's 720 miles. It delivers tomorrow at 1700. Weekend dispatch calls me when I'm getting loaded and tells me

Dispatch: "look, I know your new but this is a hot load. Can you deliver on time?"

Me: "How is this a hot load? I've done 1200 miles in two days before. Ill be running i95 VA to SC. No, better be safe and relay to someone else."

    Dispatch: "really?"

Me: "no, ill be there on time"

I don't know anything about dispatch, but shouldn't they see that I could get there on time? Lol oh well that's weekend and night dispatch for ya I guess

I would have raised the hood, located the leak,if possible. Could be a simple fix for a trucker. Steering wheel holders only know to call for help.
