Vans or flatbeds?

I brought a couple of those out of beaumont back to leonard wood, One had bullet holes and blood still in it. Still ran and drove but it was pretty sombering.

 

Albany Georgia is a rebuilding base. They get all that shot up stuff, rebuild it, then send it back. I think Texarcana does the same.

I took some shot up humvees out of Jacksonville (can't remember the base name) going to Albany. I didn't ask any questions, but I could only imagine the terror & fright that happened in those vehicles a week prior to me getting them

 

10-4. Just as well you didn't try, I think. Near the top things get insane. It's more like a paved version of the (original) Black Bear ore car road above Telluride. You can see your own tail lights go past your side window on a few of the turns. lol

 

Another good paying load.... $1.84 out of Tulsa going to Johnstown, PA. Not military related. I was told that it was 48,000 pounds on the dispatch.... I refused it 4 times then finally said "get me the hell out of here!"

1,500 pounds & took up 10 feet of my trailer! It was like running empty down the road!

 

I did a load like that for BNSF, picked up a traction motor out of livingston Mt, boogied down to Barstow Ca, unloaded it, picked up another, and a partial, and headed back to Livingston. Was a great deal.

 

Some days the perfect load & the perfect day just doesn't seem to match up

 

Originally permitted as an overlength load.... I was pulling a 53 foot skateboard.... I loaded towards the front & only had 3 & a half feet off the back. Since the rear overhang was less then 4 foot.... It was no longer considered an oversize but ameristeel still paid O/D rates.

 

Yeah, that has been known to happen a time or two.

I had a guy in a 5th wheel RV coming across 40 east bound in oklahoma swerve over and slam his trailer into my passenger side mirror as I was going around him. Crunched it up really good, I had to get a new moto mirror and all the brackets for it, I went around him and slowed down pulling off onto the shoulder.

The guy comes by me blowing his horn when he is the one who came into my lane and hit me, I chased him for 40 miles while on the phone with 911 until they finally got an officer to come out and pull him over. he wound up getting arrested for a hit and run, I stopped at KW in OKC and bought all brand new brackets and got everything put on, then had his insurance co reimburse me.

You have no idea what a ##### it is trying to drive with no blind side mirror. I had to set up the brakes a couple of times and look out the passenger side mirror, I tried really hard to make only left hand turns.

 

The one I drew was only 2.75" tall by 48" wide, should fit between the ribs.
