*The preventability of any accidents will be determined by Walmart based on the ATA Guidelines

List it. Tell what it was and that it was non preventable. When you have your interview, tell them everything about it. Honesty is HUGE with Wal-Mart. That is integrity, and it is the most important thing to them. Yes, I know that is different than anything you have ever dealt with, but it is how they work.

I filled out the application already and didn't list it. I'll go back and try to amend it to show I had a non-preventable. A four wheeler ran into the back of my rear pup. If UPS deemed it Non-preventable I'm sure Wal-Mart will as well. Be safe on the roads everybody.

Dabrian, just FYI, your application with Walmart is not official until you sign the printed copy you submitted online. You will be given this printed copy to review when you are invited to the DC for a skills test. Anything you did not include can be added at this time. This will be the last opportunity to amend your application before Walmart does a complete review. It is better to include everything, regardless of fault or preventability. For example, something as minor as scraping a yellow pole years ago would not disqualify you, unless you were to not list this and it shows up on your past employment file. This occurs pretty frequently, so better to think long and hard and include even the most minor items. As long as you still meet the minimum qualifications, you will only be competing against the qualifications of other applicants. The fact that you have been at the same employer for many years gives you a huge advantage over other applicants as it shows stability and not someone who would likely quit their job after having a bad day. In trucking, bad days can happen at even the best of companies, usually not the fault of the company, but rather other factors such as weather or traffic.

    Good luck to you.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I gave up almost 11 years and an nice hourly wage job (and good benefits) to go to work for Walmart. Once I get settled in, I'm sure I will continue to feel better. There is one helluva a support system here. I have yet to meet a driver, coordinator, or manager that isn't willing to help you through bumps that you may hit. Unreal thinking, but true.
