Another thing to look at is what the free medical covers and what the deductibles are. Free medical may not be sa good s deal.

I'm definitely a pro union guy, but I'd work for OD. Got a lifelong buddy that drives linehaul for them, he makes mid nineties per year (way more than me)...but he earns it. Lots of hours, lots of freight, always busy. He does pay for his insurance, I can't remember how much but it's not outrageous or anything. It all comes down to what an individual wants in a job. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa, that's what's great about this industry. Lots of options.

I'd work for Super Value they seem like a pretty decent place to me, I don't see to many Super Value's in Ohio, although they probably run into Ohio, it's just Giant Eagle has there own fleet and there the dominate group around here. I've kicked the Talon Logistics bucket around, but ehh probably not, GFS has more opportunities then Talon Logistics does.

We do the Acme chain in Cleveland/Akron/Canton from our warehouse, I believe our Ft. Wayne, Indiana warehouse runs some independent grocery stores in Western Ohio.

Reddaway pays for Healthcare union or not. I work at a non union terminal and we have the same benefits and don't pay union dues. We just can't get paid more than what the union guys are getting paid.

I also work at a lot of the Union terminals when they need me to help out. I just got back from working down in Tracy, CA last week. Reddaway linehaul extra board pretty much means you get to do p&d at other terminals when they get slammed.

I'm running Benecia then Oakland and back to Reno tonight. I'll probably end up working p&d in Stockton later this week. They are pretty slammed!

50 to 60 hours a week at $28 per hour sounds pretty good to me.

That's a fairly typical week for me.
