I have a 2016 kenworth t680 with cummins isx15 recently I got an overhaul done and now my water temp runs at l75 to 178 flat idling and running? when going up hill fan cuts on as normal at 210, 215. Before over haul truck was running 180 to 195 water temp don't know what changed. shop looks at it and finds nothing wrong they also changed the thermostat but truck still runs 175 checkd the gage said it was good as well as temp sensor said it was good. Anyone have any idea what could be the problem? Thanks in advance

They may have changed thermostat to a cooler one than had previously been there. When my truck was overhauled, someone had put 175 degree tstats in, cat replaced with 195s (spec)

The old stats i prefered in summer, but in winter, the new ones are much nicer.

    Why did they overhaul it?

They could have put a lower temp thermostat, I would ask them what they put in. I don't know off hand the normal running temp for your engine. It is possible, that there was corrosion build up in engine and now that its been cleaned and overhauled you have better coolant flow, thus lower temperatures.

How many miles you put on that isx15 before the overhaul? Why did it need an overhaul so early?

The kit probably came with thermostats. Easy enough to find out. Old ones must have been higher. Use whatever’s spec.
