Sounds as if you applied to Cargo Transporters through their link on the Jobs Board here. That's the list of jobs accessed through the Trucking Jobs link at the top of the page, and Cargo Transporters has one of those ads. The apps on those company pages all ask for phone number, email, etc. That's the only way they could have gotten your phone number.

I can see how a company recruiter might have referenced the site in a phone call so you would know why he's calling. The forum side of TruckersReport has no way to have your phone number and doesn't want your phone number.650cat425, bullhaulerswife, nredfor88 and 5 others Thank this.

Yeah there was a number. Most likely it was a real recruiter as I was on here the past few days, and I probably was looking under "jobs". First thing he said was "Im from the truckers report .com" though so it made me wonder. I should have looked into it more BEFORE making this post

Also the post about you calling members AFTER MIDNIGHT I assumed was a joke.

Youve given me great advice on here and I for one believe you to be a great asset to this website.650cat425, Roberts450 and Chinatown Thank this.

I had a call a few weeks ago. Caller ID showed it coming from MY phone. Yep. Like I wouldn't notice. Was a scammer.RockinChair, 650cat425 and Suspect Zero Thank this.

Yes, it was a joke.4wayflashers, Roberts450 and Chinatown Thank this.

Just an FYI, thanks to the internet, they can call you through a computer program and make the caller id look like anything.

This past year I’ve received phone calls from the fbi, irs, president Trump from his personal phone, state of Indiana, state of Michigan, Provence of Ontario and a whole lot of others including my wife’s phone, my personal phone, my business cell phone and my dead grandmothers phone with her name on the caller id, the last I think it was her calling to tell me my cats are plotting to take over the world.

I have just installed another app to eliminate the robo calls, the last one didn’t update well enough. If it gets past the app, it goes to voice mail.650cat425 Thanks this.

Also VOI(Voice over internet) will use a local number even if the call came from the Philippines. 650cat425 Thanks this.

i have had that happen many times. even had the wife's phone number show up one time an she was setting beside me.650cat425 Thanks this.

	Hi folks, some clarification here:
We don't have forum members' phone numbers, and even if we did we wouldn't call with job offers because there's a complete separation of TruckersReport between the forum and the job board. Like a newspaper, we don't want a situation where the news editors have to answer to the advertising department.

That separation is why the forum moderators were unaware that there is a team at the TruckersReport job board that calls drivers who have applied through the job board or selected an option to receive job offers in the Hammer app. Anyone who opts out is immediately placed on a Do Not Call list, this team has been making calls since mid-2019 and doesn't waste time giving drivers the hard sell.

Thanks for being cautious and I appreciate the feedback you've given.MIT, RebelChick, MACK E-6 and 4 others Thank this.

One of the ways this team on the job board operates is as a quality control check to see if the carrier's recruiting department is doing their job. I'm guessing that you applied to Cargo Transporters, so the TruckersReport team would be calling you to see whether Cargo Transporters had actually reached out to you or if you had been left hanging. Sounds like something got lost in communication, I'm sorry that the parts you did pick up sounded bad out of context.MACK E-6, 4wayflashers, Jenn72 and 1 other person Thank this.
