No matter what any fool in any office tells me, I'm the one operating the truck & not some keyboard pusher in an office....I could care less what's in the trailer, the law is the law & if they don't like it..well hey can come get the load too...
Ignorance of the law is no excuse!

I agree to a point, but there are some drivers who can waste a lot of time and whizz away massive amounts of time while accomplishing nothing while blaming the moon, the sun, and that goat on the side of the road. The system there as well as a LOT of other carriers more and more is about maximizing the hours available.
-
I do not care if there is more to your postings or not, but agree with the rest of what is above, there are better companies and new drivers should make informed choices.
This is the part I would like you to further explain. How does doing your job result in all these tickets and violations. I did work for Werner and followed the instructions of my dispatchers and planners and never had the issues you seem to be having. I think maybe your dispatcher is not bright, or maybe you are not as good as they think you are or think you should be. Yes part of their job is to push you to get as much from you as they can, but I know several planners and dispatchers that have worked for and some that still work for Werner and I know they do not want their drivers to get tickets violations or have accidents. It is nearly as much of pain to deal with for them as it is for the driver. -
If a Werner truck crashes head on into a CR England truck and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Not to change the subject, but your grammer is way to good to be a truck driver. Something smells here.
if u rote liek dis it wud be eazyer to belve.FLATBED Thanks this. -
I think he is on a FISHING expedition to get info for a lawsuit on behalf of someone other than himself.

Hey! Ya gotta watch those goats now! They're sneaky lil' varmits!

Oh...well, my grammar is okay, I guess; but I really just wanted to work for an honest trucking company and be a safe driver. I am just finding Werner's tactics in load planning and/or dispatch to be coercive and very dishonest. Maybe if I was in a country that did not have federal employment laws to protect their citizens, I would just accept it and become a "yes person" and just agree to everything. But I really can't do that....Werner gets paid federal stipends and makes money for endorsing new drivers on the road. I don't think Werner should be compensated by the federal gov't for assisting new drivers when they use tactics that increase a drivers liability and pressure a driver beyond their limits; further resulting in accidents when drivers do what they are told and just agree to everything their dispatchers tell them. It's a dangerous game. I know drivers who really did follow their dispatchers and load planners instructions (no matter what) and ended up in deleterious accidents or with tickets because they are trying to accomplish an impossible ETA and drive without their normal caution. The drivers are not really the problem. I went to a really good school and learned driving techniques that most of the drivers I know practice; however, Werner's tactics in load planning and dispatch are harmful to their drivers. -
The problem is, drivers (as tough as they act, or as tough as they like to think they are) have nothing hanging between their legs when it comes time to nut up, or shut up. Hence being just as responsible for these problems. If every driver really talked to their load planners and dispatchers like they claim they do on here. The topic you are currently writing about. Would not be a problem.
All I wanted to add. -
