That bit about the coleman is why its good that walmart sells them. They're poorly made! I had one in a cabinet in my cascadia, it went out after 2 months. Motor burned out. I suspect the heat overworked it from being in that cabinet. Returned it to walmart without a receipt (That way they dont know how long its been lol), got a new one! Now i keep it laying on the floor in the cooler position. Works better holds more stuff.

I worked at walmart and have seen the crap peopel try to return and have no problem with doing something like this. it's common for people to buy acaake an eat half of it and return the other half.....

I love my lunchbox oven but i want a microwave! its soooo slow.

I used to have a 12v cooler, worked for about 3 yrs til the seal on the lid gave out, motor still worked. I've tried the 12v cooker thing, worked twice and then died.

I've got a 12V 4cup coffee maker, and a lunch box oven. The oven works very well. The coffee maker is another story, takes 1/2 an hour to make 4 small cups. But it's the best one I've had, marketed by Tracker. I think Petro is who carries it. I've had others, but they were even a bigger piece of garbage. I'd consider paying $100 for a good one, if I could find one. It was rumoured that Bunn made a good one, but haven't been able to find it.
You just can't beat an inverter powered 120V coffee maker, even a cheap $12 one is better then any 12V I've had.
I've had the Coleman and Igloo coolers as well, pure garbage IMO.:biggrin_255:

I sure would not be quick to by a Bunn coffee maker of ANY kind. Bunn USED to make wonderful stuff. But we spent an exorbitant amount of money on one a couple of years ago. It does make good coffee, but the carafe leaks all over everything when you pour out of it.

We complained to the company, they admitted they had a problem and sent us a new carafe. It does the same thing. The problem is that it will probably last for years, and I'm too cheap to go buy a different one as long as this one works.

I have really liked the Mr. Coffee machines that I've had over the years. But I don't like the fact that they don't seem to last more than a year to a year and a half...

I do agree that an inverter with a 110v coffee maker is a far better choice to any of the 12v ones that I've seen.

I'm only on day runs at the moment so in my kit bag is an inverter that plugs into a cigarette lighter on the dash that runs my laptop. Well you've got to be able to log onto to forum while unloading havent you ?
