No, I just went to that company after a few years when they were the inspiration.

I'm old enough to remember when all the Jokes were about J.B Hunt. It was not all that long ago either. Honestly, if I were starting out again and could get into one of their dedicated accounts I would have no issue with driving for JB!

I like driving truck. I like the money. It makes getting out of trucking hard. I live in a rural area and routinely bump up to 100000 a year. Nobody else pays like that around here other than trucking. It’s also not all trucking jobs. First job I had that got me close to that was food service. Now it’s hauling gas. We will see where it all leads.

Wouldn't change anything i did at the beginning. Got my 1st driving experience in NYC doing food service for a year. Then went into the oilfield doing pneumatic dry bulk cement.

Pretty much was thrown to the wolves with my 1st gig, sink or swim ;)

i would tell myself that if i average 50k a year and work 10 yrs thats 500k gross, theres no reason to be broke, unless you put your money into a 401k when 2008 came around lol

You do realize the people who kept pouring money into their 401k's in 2008 and the few years after it came out making bank a decade down the road here in 2021, right?

Not to get off topic but 2008 would have been the perfect time to pour all of your money into the stock market if you didn't need it for a decade.

    DON'T REMIND ME!

Got out of the Army in 2008, had several investments go from "comfy" to "maaaaybe can afford rent, bills, & 2 meals a day for 3 months"

it wasn't me, i don't put money in a 401k, I'm referring to the old people who lost out who weren't gonna live another decade to see it grow again, they shouldv cashed out. also depends on what peoples definition of "making bank" is.
