What are the odds of getting hired after laying a truck over.

So let me ask you this you super trucker #### stick. Would you have held your lane and let the car filled with a family possibly get sucked up under your trailer and roll over them with your tandems? Or would you have tried to do what ever it takes to allow all parties to stay above ground? If you answer anything other than all parties above ground you should get out of the truck and hang up your CDL because your super trucker know it all piece of #### ### day s going to kill some one. Move the #### along because I don't need your ####ing ####, you don't think I feel like ####? I do, I wish I would of hit that ####ing bridge and kept the truck up right. I wish I ended my self because that would've been better than getting #### from someone like you

5 years ago I had a choice to make in the blink of an eye.....all I will say is I can sleep at night regardless of the outcome. That day I thought I had lost everything seriously. It hasn't been easy but we have survived.


It sounds to me you had a similar decision. You made the choice you can live with at night. No going back to change that. Don't let a holier than thou self righteous prick that hasn't the slightest clue about what he is talking about make you feel you owe him an explanation.


I will say once again a man that steers himself into danger to put others out of harm's way even though they put theirselves in that position is what separates a driver from the rest. Some can only think about their own well being and future, dont let the selfish drag you down

OP is Joetro, who started this thread about a crash his godson had. In post #24, Garrettw enters the conversation and indentifies himself as the godson that crashed.

Does that clear the confusion up?

 

Garrett, I told you not to engage this clown. You have enough to worry about without guys like this getting you fired up. Concentrate on you and the ones that are here truly helping you and ignore the guy who thinks his opinion is above all others. He isn't worth the effort, especially when you consider that it's obvious he didn't even read past the first post, if he read even that much.

I gotta admit, d o g, I cheered when I read your post. I remember the days when I was doing your job on this site, way back when, and was hoping someone would come in and say something (I figured it would be @bullhaulerswife) because I would have kept engaging him against my better judgement. I'm older now than I was back then and so I like to argue, I guess. Thank you for saving me from myself.

 

Garrettw, I hope you find a good job, and a good reasonable company to work for.

I now drive a heavy wrecker for a Living in Northern Ontario, and spend my days pulling trucks out of the ditch or recovering roll overs, etc. 9 times out of 10 the driver was distracted, or not paying attention (fell asleep, etc). However that 1 of 10 case, their only choice was to hit and kill someone, or do anything and everything to try and avoid it, including putting themselves at risk. That is the correct and only choice as far as I'm concerned for a professional driver.

 

Garrett, Don't beat your self up man! S### happens! From the posts I've read it sounds like you were put in a bad situation by a 4 wheeler and you made a decision. We know the results of your decision and it was a rolled over truck with no injuries. Let's say you let the car go under you. I'm guessing the results would have been fatalities for the 4 wheeler, your Truck would still be wrecked, You could potentially be dead as well and if you didn't have physical injuries you would definitely have mental duress. I've known 2 drivers that were involved in fatal accidents (neither were at fault) and it messed them up! One quit driving and the other took 2 years to get back in a truck. If I was a betting man I'd bet your going to get another driving job. The most important part of this whole thing is your alive! if you never drove another Truck again your still alive and there's plenty of other things you could make a living at. Stop beating your self up the sun will rise tomorrow and I'm glad your alive! God bless!
