i dont think you guys have to worry about the walt whitman anymore. far as iknow they pushed that old s***hole down and building a warehouse there. i know that place well. an old company i worked for delivered to the robert orr sysco dc around the block from the place and it was crawling with hookers and drug pushers and everything. i must have got my truck knocked on 20 times a night when i was there
Wild wild west in las vegas. Small casino changed out the diner for a Denny's but the lot is lighted and security patroled, free parking 48 hr, and a nice little store. Friendly girls working there
Exit restaurant! That place is literally two miles away from my home. unfortunately, they are no longer 24 hours.
The old National Truckstop in Longview TX is one of my favorite places. Truck World in Hubbard OH is another one. Also the Grovertown Truckstop in Grovertown IN on 30 and the one in Columbia City (near Ft Wayne) on 30 is a nice place too. I tended to avoid the corporate places when I was OTR. Prefer the smaller family run operations myself.
Actually the one I think he's talking about is still open. Its in bollingbrook, pay for parking, potholes the size of a small car, only thing I really loved about this place was the bar an grill across the road. Awesome food I wanna say its called Bono's. I never ate at the truckstop, showered there once nasty showers. You would think at 10 bucks a truck they could renovate a little or spruce the place up to make it a little nicer. But I guess this is the Chicago area...........nough said.
