Here's a surprise, I agree with you. I guess my only point is that you sometimes have to be willing to suffer the consequences for no I won't do that. I'am willing to run hard, bit I also have my requirements. They have to supply me with the tools to do want they want done. And I do not run over on Hours. There was a time when I would have run these ONT to DFW to LAX loads Solo and in the same time frame. But Alass no more. I chose my co-driver out of our fleet of 85 drivers, and I also chose the tractor for the job. Old Grouchy and Demanding now days.....

The run listed above is 3500 miles.

Your going to run 1400 miles ever 20 hours solo, I do not think so.... We run ONT to DFW in 20 hours, then back to LAX in another 20 hours, back to back non stop except for pee and fuel. Do this for 6 days.. 11,000 miles, Its 4 rounds in 6 days.

Pee? Real truckers don't P. Or stop to p anyway. I did that load today on a 1 liter of diet mountain dew, a smooched up ham cheese croissant, and a bag of skittles. But I did have the Chinese food that was waiting for me at the point on my mind the whole time. Yeeee hawww

A couple years ago I got a load out of Brawley Beef and I drove Richmond, Texas to the house. Took a 2 hour power nap and log book catch up around mountain home Texas. Actually Dfw to ontario would boar me to death. Those teams could have it. (oh ya truck was governed at 60mph) I don't like going 65 because I'm in the left lane too much. I couldn't imagine doing 70 and 75 no thank you. Give me a 60 mile an hour rooster cruiser and I'll getter done. Well back in the day anyway.

I'm with ya on that. My point is just that I don't want to see any of the youngbloods come out here and expect they're gonna knock out 3500 miles their first week and drive beyond their limits and hurt themselves or someone else. I'm no stranger to the outlaw game myself. I was dragging 100k lbs loads around before I was 20 years old and dropping 2 runs from mt sterling illinois to williamsport maryland in 4 days. But I'm getting old and grouchy these days too. I see logs as a helpful tool instead of a hinderence nowadays as it keeps me from having to run 20 hrs a day anymore. I've started up boards for some pretty big companies(2 in the same year for the same company) I just don't wanna run like a banshee anymore. I don't wanna come home and spend most of my 34 hr restart passed out trying to bank up on sleep for the week to come. Just something that comes with age I guess.

running hard!!!@!@# this is for the real men. not the faint of heart. eat a whole box of generic pseudafed and down it with a 64 ounce mountain dew at 3 AM because you don't wanna fail the DOT drug test and ruin your career. find a desolate stretch of desert highway--preferabbly around Barstow because that town sucks anyways. nevermind the speed limit, hit 80 MPH and turn your headlights off. lay on the horn. scream 'holy jesus, we are gonna die' and that's running hard.
