Does that price include the finger printing and background check costs?

Tanker, Doubles/triples, Hazmat. I'd wait on a TWIC card. Lots of companies will pay for those and you may well not need it.

    My opinion:

Don't worry about ANY endorsement----concentrate on getting the licence first, then worry about endorsements.

The fact that you are asking the question in the first place means you're getting distracted. You don't need any distractions at this point.

Get them all while your in school!
If you dont use hazmat after cpl years just dont renew it !

More options are open if you have them .:biggrin_25522:

But them some place you wont need any of them.

    Just be prepared..

I was not going to get hazmat because the company I was going to did not need it.
Then I talked to a company running regional thats out of my area and got a better deal. but they requier hazmat. luckely, my instructers at school talked me into getting along with doubles/trips tanks. And its amazing what constitutes hazmat, for example, expandable polystryene. Theres nothing really hazardous about it except the epa has decided that some of its makeup is bad for fish or something, what I mean is it won't explode if a train hits it or anything, no fumes, ect. Your just getting out of school so make sure you leave all your options open. Hazmat, Twic, Passport card, Doubles/trips, Tankers, get them all, the tests are easy. I use hazmat, passport, twic, and the company I work for has a bulk and a tanker division. With some experience maybe I can move up = more money. Give yourself every chance you can for a job.
    Good Luck

Hazmat it required at many companies.

Get them all, including a TWIC.

I got one job just because I had a doubles/triples endorsement, even though I never used it once for that job. In fact, I have never used it at all.

Got my current job because of my experience at the job above, and because I have a TWIC (which I have never used, nor will I at this job). Hazmat was also a requirement and I have yet to actually use it, although it will come up sooner or later.

I have a great job at a company that many people consider one of the best in the industry, making a good bit more than other companies would have paid me. Never would have got that without my endorsements.

Hey, LOOK, P-P, we finally agree on something!!! What IS this world coming to??

As much as I hate to admit it, I think P-P is right... That's what I did... I just got the CDL-A, and as I needed (or wanted) other endorsements, I took the test and got them... It was only $5 a pop (in Michigan)... The down side is that I took so many pictures, I thought I had been arrested!!! (Don't start, P-P!!)

My 2 cents is get your endorsements when you get your license. Its better to be able to walk through a door saying "I have this" than to say "well I can get that later if you want". The fact that your asking the question now does not necessarily mean your distracted like some might think. It could mean he is thinking ahead.......distracted?......gimme a break.

Sorry Joe Schmuck, even though we have this opening here that pays xxx and has good benefits, we are going to have to give this here position to Joe Smith because he came prepared.
