The northeast upstate is beautiful during the summer though, my issues are parking, weather and weather and people who don't understand how to drive in bad weather

    On the Buffalo thing.
I lived in Jamestown for 15 years. Ran with Heartland Express for over 4 years out of Columbus. Not Carlisle.
I got less per mile, since I was not on the NE regional. But most of the loads we had to Buffalo were out of Columbus. So I got on salary dedicated out of Columbus and was guarantee home every weekend.
I do know of a few kick *&^ dedicated runs to buffalo with them and another company. Let me know if you really want to know who the other was with. It will surprise you, and it seemed to come open once a year lol.

I love running the Northeast. There's nothing wrong with it. Especially NYC. There's many a driver who tells horror stories of New York, and most haven't been there. Same with the guys who tell you all the bad stuff about the Pacific Northwest in the winter time, like it snows constantly and blah blah blah. I ran the Northeast exclusively for many years. I'm from there, number one, but more importantly, if you go with a good attitude and know what you're doing, it's no worse than any part of the country.

Everytime I go east of Chicago, I get the "You're Number One" salute from many people. so I try not to experience it anymore. I still use all my fingers when I wave back......

I'll have to agree with Joseph on having the right attitude, that right there is most the battle to trucking.I've delivered to the northeast many times,NYC Long Island, alot of Baltmore and Philly. After the first few times it's a piece of cake. But you must go their with a positive and laid back attitude.
