Yea I agree. It will cost you more if you don't give them two weeks notice.
They were going swap crazy then we were getting lousy miles for three weeks. Now things are getting better.:) might have also been bad timing for you. Transam seems to be making changes that they refuse to talk about. I hate that.

I have talked to the DM over and over and several other people agree, he is the worst. I have asked to be assigned a new DM and they said no. I have talked to the Fleet manager and nothing and have called Leasing twice. They said they will email the DM and follow up to make sure he is getting me the loads and they do nothing. I read on one forum that they can't charge you a penalty fee if it does not state that in the contract. I can't find anywhere that statses a $1250 penalty for terminating without notice. Yet I have seen 2 people say they got charged. How can they charge you something that it doesn't specify in the contract. This company is just plain sorry.

all of what you said is true and yet not
    certainly not the whole story
no brand new driver should ever lease that is clear

jack g. in leasing can get you on a budget for being in the hole

as far as getting swapped all the time
unless there is mismanagement of hours that shouldnt happen
i have been swapped 3 times in 15 months
never saw a negative check till after being there 9 months and in the shop for 5 days
people make a success here and some dont
biggest thing is getting experience and moving on to a place you can be successful at

I agree that newbies should never lease. Hindsight is great. Several of my swaps occurred because my 2013 Kenworth had issues and I had to put it in the shop. Other times, they would say due to my having to do my 10 hour shutdown, the time wouldn't work. What they don't say is they give you the load and then you can't pick it up for hours or the next day and then the timing is off. This DM is a jerk and doesn't care whether I sit for days or I roll. He flat doesn't care and they won't give me a different one. That is great you have only been swapped a few times and great you never saw a negative check for 9 months. Out of 8 settlements so far, 5 have been negative and 3 positive. The first positive one was because they only took half a truck note out for the first settlement. So it is great they are working for you but for myself and many I have read about...they just lie and steal.

i will guarntee that all loads are planned to be able to be delivered on time
    managing your hours correctly
not counting on breakdowns and weather
if you regularly cant deliver a load
you need to speak to chris in training to learn how to properly manage your hours
another company cant fix not driving properly

Ding Ding Ding!! We have a winner Johnny!! Tell Drive of the year what he has won!! Well Driver, you've "won" a 3 year lease! You'll be paying for the truck, the maintenance, the insurance, the fuel, and all the extra's!! We'll be reaping the profits for all of your 14 hour days, and as a bonus, 2 1/2 years from now, we'll cut your miles to the point where you lose the truck you've basically purchased for us!!

Seriously though Jackson, do what Driver of the year suggested, and don't just bail out. Give them the 2 week notice, and cut your losses before you're completely wiped out. You have some experience now ,so hooking on with another place as a company driver shouldn't be a problem at all. Good luck man, and congrats on realizing you were in over your head before it was too late. Sadly the roads are littered with folks who didn't.....

that dont charge you a penalty for quitting without notice
what they charge you is the weeks of the lease for quitting without notice
you signed an agreement to pay that lease each week
with a 2 week walk away provision
without giving a 2 week notice you are violating an agreement you signed
    that is the truth
no matter what you think of me or transam

Thanks Guitar Man...I sent them certified mail this past Friday with my written resignation. I am going to try and do the 2 week notice. After the past 3 negative settlements straight in a row and been sitting in Olathe to get repaired and now waiting on another load since Fri. night...just hard to imagine another 1-2 negative settlements. I have apps out there now. Never would do leasing again...never, ever. Company driver only. Thanks for the encouragement

Is it just me, or would issues with a 2013 Kenworth be under warranty? What issues were you having?

Either way, I'd give the 2 weeks notice, that way you held up your end of the deal, even if they haven't.
