I'm admittedly ignorant, and maybe mistakenly assume that we have the ability to knock out most of his nukes before they leave Russia's airspace. I know there would be catastrophic consequences to pay in some areas, but where will this end if we (US and NATO) continue to do essentially nothing.

Then of course there is China....

I don't know enough to talk intelligently about it, but my gut reaction is to try to turn his people against him.
