That's true. You tax the crap out of the working to pay for the free for the lazy.

I don't levy taxes on anyone. That's way above my paygrade. I get my road graded for free every couple of years. The rest of the time I crank up the old Cat 12 and do it myself.
I also let the fire guys stage their helicopters in my pasture and the tribal police use my land for training their trackers. That's all free.
But speaking of free, who's paying for your chemo, your radiology, and your operation? I certainly don't begrudge you those things. If the taxpayers are helping to foot the bill I think it's money well spent.

Know the difference between a hand up and a hand out? Guess not.

A person who has worked for roughly 40 years paying social security and Medicare. Who uses those benefits for roughly a year. Is getting a hand up.

A welfare recipient expecting free everything. Is a hand out.

So no. I have not seen a kettle.

Instead of living in a tent on the side of the freeway. Holding my hand out to the government.

I lived in a tent AND worked 10 hour days. To earn the money to get to TX and get my CDL.

Everyone might need a hand up to get through a tough time. But nobody should need to get hand out and live off the system. Unless they are just unwilling to work.

Thanks for the explanation. It's always interesting to see how people view things when they're on the other side of the fence.

Had a #### good grader operator out on the lane I uses to live on... He actually knew how to "cut" the surface smooth and then pull the trim back up and over the road for a nice smooth ride. Did it every spring, would usually stay nice until the first snow.

It's an art, I believe. We've had that old 12 a long time. My Dad used it to grade the crop duster's runway at the home place and all the outlying strips before rice planting started. He was a good hand, smooth and patient.
I could use some of both. About the best thing you could say about my grading is that the road is better when I'm done but I should have called it done three or four passes ago.. It's peaceful, though, out there all by yourself.
