I once drove 30 hrs in a 24 hour period. Thru the biggest snow storm of the modern day , i had just gotton out of the navy off my tour from being a special ops navy seal sniper where i racked up over 206 confirmed kills. I was headed home to start my new life as an otr truck driver where i now share my seal stories with my fellow comrades at the petro lunch counter

Spirit Lake, IA to Chestermere, AB. Co-driver didn't show up. Ran it solo, straight through, only stops were potty stops and Tim Horton's for body fuel. 90K with a 430 HP series 60. 22.5 hrs. Paper, cash money for fuel, crossing national borders. Enforce THAT, LOL.

But no, I wasn't doing all that great when I got there. Ah, to be young! (and dumb and full of ....... ).

Non-HOS. I used to drive from North County San Diego to Bozeman, Montana to snowboard. 22 hours. I’d leave at 5pm and arrive the next day around 3pm. Eat dinner and hang a bit then go to sleep. I used to call it driving amnesia. My brain would erase most of the journey while I slept and I’d wake in the morning ready to ride.

HOS. I’ve always been on e-logs. Whatever’s legal. Drive 10ish do my 10 then start driving again. So less than 14 hours. What a newb.

a few times I've Legally run just short of 14 hrs and aprox 840 miles in a 60mph (62 on cruise) governed truck in 24hr periods. Did it to prove a point. (just take the 10 down during the morning, and roll again in the afternoon).

When safety called to whine told the clerk to figure out how to log and hung up on them.

Oh @otterinthewater Thanks for the thunderstorms all day today. Knocked the dust out of the air down here.

We do need to talk about them starting at 0430 though.....

So there is a possibility of trying to clean up loose ends on Sunday...not 100% sure yet but it's a possibility. If I'm out there and the tropical storm level winds start up before I get back in what tips can y'all give me for driving in that? Tandems up, back, middle? Slower the better? I'm hoping it's advice I won't need but figured I'm best to go out armed with all the knowledge I can get.

Farthest I drove was Minneapolis to Sioux City, then to see moines to off load then to rock island to pump off more, then to wever to load, then to Walcott to sleep. That sucked.

I had a wedding to get to the next day.
