Well Lorrie finally talked (badgered) me into painting the kitchen cabinets. Yuck so dumb I built them out of oak. So I had her order new Doors for them and I'll remove the oak doors and store them till she comes back to her senses. I knew sooner or later she was going to get her way. The #### oak was her idea in the first place. Wasn't a hill I was willing to die on. Why would anyone want painted cabinets? Well eh could be worse. At least I have the time.

I think Oak is one of the most boring woods out there. Great for structural use, but I don't want to see it. Oak has just been way overdone since the '70s.

I prefer kicking up the potential for interesting contrasts by going for Walnut, Birch, Maple, Mahogany, cedar..... most anything other than oak.

I grew up with Teak, but I enjoy any wood grain over painted, even barnwood.

It’s Monster Dave. I heard Redbull was made with bull semen. I use to AI cows. I have also watched the collection process. No Redbull for me.

I have seen some wonderful teak, both inside a home and as outside furniture.

I have seen barn wood that is well done, and also stuff that you can tell was done by an inept designer/installer combination. Some of it is grates on my Home Depot Design Center Circa flavor of the year nerve. You know that nerve... that one that flares up when you can tell when a room was remodeled by the cheap crap that is installed that was the "new" thing in the home center then, that has faded into historical "What where they thinking?" status now.
